The natural beauties of San Teodoro are remained immutate thanks also to the institution of the Marine Area Protect of Tavolara. The park extends from Capo Ceraso until Isuledda's beach. Its institution has contributed to the maintenance of the exceptional naturalistic patrimony. The AMP, that it comprises the islands of Tavolara, Molara and Molarotto is visitabile in every day excursions in sea with departure from San Teodoro and from Porto San paolo, we advise also to excursions Diving and Snorkling with the centers zone excursion.

Established on Decembre 12, 1997 by a decree of the Minister for the Environment, the Marine Protected Area of Tavolara - Punta Coda Cavallo is among the most appealing plasces of the Mediterranean Sea. The stunning beauty of the landscapes, the wonderful geomorfological, biological and environmental trademark are alle enriched by the cultural and historic background of teh surrounding area, that gives life to an unequalled mixture of nature and culture. In order to preserve this unique environment, some activities might be restricted or not allowed. To know and respect thes few rules will help all of us to maintain intact, and to enjoy this exceptional piece of naturalistic heritage for generations to come.

Rules of conduct in the Marine Protected Area

ZONE A - Full Reserve
Permitted Activities:
- Access to the staff of the Managing Authority of the Marine Protected Area for maintenance and control, and to scientific personnel for research purposes, after prio authorization;
- Autorized guided scuba diving tours in restricted areas and only on approved routes.
Forbidden Activities:
- Swimming;
- Sportive and professional fishing;
- Boat cruising except for the patrol boats of the Marine Area'a guards.

ZONE B - General Reserve
Permitted Activities:
- Sailing and cuising with boats at low speed (not to exceed 10 knots);
- Guided tours, including scuba diving, after prior authorization by the Managing Authority of the Marin Protected Area;
- Swimming;
- Mooring at suitable structures provided by the Managing Aughority of the Marine Protected Area;
- Limited fishing for the professional fishermen of the Communities, whose coasts are included in the Reserve Area. The fishing equipment allowed must not damage the seabed and the quantity of daily allowed fish load is dictated by the Managing Authority of the Marine Protected Area.
Forbidden Activities:
- Professional fishing with trawl-nets;
- Sportive fishing of any kind and with any type of equipment;

ZONE C - Partial Reserve
Permitted Activities:
- Boat, sailing and cruising;
- Mooring as prescibed by the Managing Authority;
- Scuba diving according to the protection measures fot the safeguard of the seabed;
- Limited fishing for the professional fishermen of the Communities, whose coasts are included in the Reserve Area. The fishing equipment allowed must not damage the seabed and the quantity of daily allowed fish load is dictatted by the Managing Authority of the Marine Protected Area.
- Sportive fishing, if practiced with the following system and limitations:
a) Fishing lines and fishing rods used from the land or beach, dead fishing lines, fishing lines fo squid: not more than one for each person and with max of three hooks:
b) Not more than one corrntina for each person and with max of six hooks;
c) Traina not more than one for each boat.

Provisional Regulation
Alla activities allowed within the Marine Protected Area are governed by a provisional regulation issued by the Police Authority of the Harbour-Office of Olbia. This regulation forbids the anchoring in the zones "B" and "C", except for sandy and pebbly saebed areas and purposely equipped or circumscribed areas. Things not allowed: underwater fishing, jet-ski and all water sports withe the use of dragging equipment.
